TRAFFIC

Traffic Management

To enable the safe operation of the event, it will be necessary to close some roads and also to implement a stop-go at the main intersection of Hobsonville Point Rd and De Havilland Rd. It's important for motorists to remember that any delays will be short and the traffic management operation will only be in place for around 90 minutes. By far the easiest way to avoid any inconvenience is to plan ahead and avoid travelling south across the De Havilland Rd axis from 7:45am to 9:15am on the morning of the race.

For residents within the road closure areas, our event crew will do everything we can to facilitate your movement into and out of your property, providing it is safe to do so. If you do find yourself in charge of a vehicle moving within the road closure area, please drive at walking pace with hazard lights on and keep a close lookout for runners or walkers who will be sharing the road with you.

Traffic Management Map

This traffic management map highlights the traffic provisions and road closures that will be in place for a short time on the Sunday morning of race weekend. We invte all residents of Hobsonville Point to plan ahead for the short time that the traffic calming measure in place and avoid the area at these times. Although we do not expect long queues, we do expect motorists will be delayed by a few minutes at the main crossroads at Hobsonville Point Rd and De Havilland Rd - where a stop-go will be in operation. These delays will peak for only a short time around the race start at 8amaand the busy crossing period of 8:20am - 9:00am.

Travelling to the Event

Regretfully, the amazing inner-harbour ferry service does not operate early enough on Sunday mornings to get you to Hobsonville Point in time for the main start (maybe it's a good thing as the ferry terminal is about 1km away!). Therefore, most participants will arrive by car. Please be mindful when parking in surrounding streets. Do not block driveways or park on berms.

Auckland Transport enforcement officers actively patrol at all of our events (no, they do not have a sleep in on Sunday mornings!) and we are fully supportive of their ticketing the inconsiderate use of vehicles. Please don't ruin you awesome Sunday morning fitness by picking up a parking ticket or - worse still - having your vehicle towed.
